This is perhaps my most beloved, magical headpiece. It has been in photoshoots for major fashion magazines, on NYFW runways, and much more. If you want to feel like a living work of art, look no further. Each butterfly was handmade by me, traced and cut out of sequin film; then the folds were rolled into the wings with a fondant roller, to create shimmer. The butterflies, secured on the ends of painted green millinery wires, shimmer and tremble as you move. The sturdy wire frame that supports the butterflies can be reshaped if it ever gets a kink in it.
The base of the headpiece is adorned with fine European fabric flowers as well as metallic gold flowers, and rose gold velvet leaves handmade in London. Upcycled vintage and antique jewelry, and hand-strung strings of beads, also adorn the base. Basically everything on this headpiece was either handmade by me, or sourced from the finest flower/trim/millinery shops around. An adjustable clear elastic strap secures the headpiece in place - gently pull the strap to the back of your head, under all your hair, just above the neck. Adjust if necessary.
